Drumstick a la Chinois
I was surprised there are many kids or adults that their dreams are/were to work at bakery shops, or to have one such a shop of their own.
In fact there are many bakery shops where they bake really tasty breads and some have unique ideas of their own bakery items.
Could be the health consciousness level here, cakes or bakeries never are too sweet in Japan. Try make a overly sweet one, your shop will be closed down the next day. Nobody comes again. This is not the standard of Japanese, but rather the demand of the market in Japan, I think. There are too much competition for all the products that available, and consumer demands change too fast. This is a big topic about processed food and big corporates in Japan. I hope to find out more to write.
I just bought a few breads from a bakery that I passed by the other day. The one in the picture was named Chicken Pie: there isn't chicken in it, but it is made with the shape of a drumstick. By wrapping with a foil, it sure looks as if a drumstick. Inside it's creamed salmon, and outside that's bread crumbs.
