iPhone 103/365 - Mister Donut's Cha Siew Pao
Mister Donut, a donut specialty chain restaurant, serves western donuts but also limited selection of dimsum as well. One of its latest line-ups is Cha Siew Pao, pork bun.
From the photo one can tell, it doesn't at all look like one Cha Siew Pao. Sesame? I wonder why Japan doesn't like the fluffy, soft, and snow white pork bun like we used to see in Chinese dimsum restaurant. Anyone any idea why?
Again I found the roast pork, Cha Siew, isn't the same here. It seems Japanese doesn't like the edible red color preservatives. While Chinese fried the pork belly then braise it, Japanese directly braise for long hours.
So, Cha Siew though is translated as roast pork, but it's not always you find one good roast pork here.
They boil it. Boil.
